 Calculation the line balancing ;

·        How many operators .

·        Operation.

·        SMV.

·        Performance.

·        Potential production per hour .

·        Hour to achieve target .

·        Capacity

·        Target

Now :

 

                         =250  ÷ (5×60 )

                          =  0.83%

Potential production per hour =( 60 ÷ SMV ) × wanted efficiency .

Hours to achieve target =  target per week ÷ potential production

 If , SMV = 1.20

 Performance = 80%

Target per week = 3000

Then potential production per hour =( 60 ÷ 1.20 )×80 %  = 40 pic per hour

Now , we know the target per week = 3000 pic

Hour to achieve target = 3000 ÷ 40 = 75  hour

So capacity is = 60 min ÷ 4500 min = 0.0133

Example ;

A shift 8 hour working day ,what is the cycle time needed to generate an output rate of 300 units per day

Cycle time is = operation time per day ÷ output rate =( 8hr ×60min ) ÷300

                                                                                                  = 1.6 min
