cotton fabric dyeing with sulfur dye . tex-know
v Exp Name: Cotton fabric dyeing by Sulfur dyes
v Introduction: Sulfur dye are most commonly used
dyes manufactured for cotton in terms of volume. Sulfur dyes are predominantly
Black, Brown, Dark Blue. Sulfur dyes are
so called because sulfur dyes contain
“di-sulphide” linkage in their chemical structure .

v Recipe and calculation:
·
M: L =
1:20
·
Sample = 3.77gm
·
Dye =15% or =0.56gm
·
Total water =
3.77×20 = 75.4 cc
·
Hydrous
= 10 gm/l = (10×75.4) ÷1000
= 0.75 ml
·
Salt
= 10 gm/l = (10×75.4) ÷1000
= 0.75 ml
·
NaOH = 10gm/l = (10×75.4) ÷1000= 0.75 gm
·
Time = 40 minute
·
Temperature =
85-90°c
·
PH =
10-11
v Sample:
Figure: Sulfur Dyeing Sample
v Working Procedure:
·
At first, we take a sample dyeing Becker
·
Then take 3.77gm white cellulosic fabric
·
And 75.4ml water
·
Then salt weight by digital balance. Take as our
recipe% of salt soda
·
After That we add all chemical, Hydrous, NaOH, as per our
recipe chart.
·
Then adds 15% stock- color as we find our calculation
·
And mixed all chemical then, wet sample fabric squeeze
water. then the sample fabric put in the beaker and close this, now start
dyeing in 80-90°c and 10-11 Ph for 40 minute process this dyeing.
·
After dyeing cool wash this sample fabric and dry this
fabric
v Conclusion: By this
experiment now we know about Sulfur dyes, Recipe, recipe Calculation and
Working Procedure of Sulfur Dyes. Its will be helpful for us.
