 Stitch type = 101 for single needle chain stitch .

stitch type = 301 for single needle lock stitch .

stitch type = 401 for single needle chine stitch.

Stitch type = 504 for three thread over lock stitch .

For sewing 1 inch or making 1 inch of seam

  Stitch type 101 = 3+2TS

 Stitch type 301 = 2+2TS

Stitch type 401 = 4+2TS

stitch type 504 = 3+4WS+4TS

example  ,

   if the thickness of seam 0.005 and stitch number per inch is 9 . determine thread consumption for stitch type 101 .

no give , thickness ( T ) =  0.005

                  stitch  ( S ) =9 per inch

                  thread consumption = ?

  now , thread consumption = 3+ 2TS

                                                   = 3 + 2 ×0.005 ×9 = 3.09 inch  (  ans)
